1.Who is processing your personal data
Yuga is an app for iPhone and Android in which you talk with AI recreations of historical figures. It is made and run by Hriday Vanka, an individual developer, of Hyderabad, Telangana, India, India. I am the Data Fiduciary for your personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (the “Act”).
Contact for any question about how your personal data is processed: Hriday Vanka, support@foundationalcreations.com. The same person is the Grievance Officer (Pranay Vanka).
This notice stands on its own. You don’t need to read anything else to understand it. The full Privacy Policy gives more detail.
2.The personal data, and what it is for
| Personal data | Purpose | What it lets you do |
|---|---|---|
| The text of what you say or type to a figure, and the conversation so far (including any name or detail you mention) | To have Google’s Gemini AI write the figure’s reply, and to check for signs of self-harm so help can be shown | Talk with a figure; watch and moderate a debate. Not stored after the reply. |
| The figure, year and languages you chose; whether teen mode is on | To make the reply fit your choice and your age | Conversations in your language, suited to your age |
| The sentence a figure is about to speak | To produce the figure’s voice (Google Cloud Text-to-Speech) | Hear the figures speak. Not stored. |
| Email address, name, and the account id from Google or Apple sign-in | To create and run your account and email you about it | Have an account (optional) |
| Year of birth (optional) | To refuse under-13s, apply teen mode under 18, and allow adults-only content | Age-appropriate conversations |
| Counts of voice seconds used, messages sent per day and your own debates started per week | To apply your plan’s allowances | Use the free plan or Plus |
| Plan and purchases (when on sale): plan, period, store, renewal and trial status, store country and price band, minute-pack balance; billing event ids (90 days) | To give you Plus or minute packs you bought, and apply refunds. Payment is taken by Apple or Google; I never see card details | Buy Plus or minute packs |
| Memory of past calls (Plus, only if you turn it on): your messages in a call, summed up by Gemini into at most 6 short facts about yourself per figure | So a figure remembers you next time | Be remembered by a figure. Kept 12 months after your last call with that figure |
| A reply you report and your message before it, with a reason and note (not linked to you) | To fix replies that are wrong or unsafe | Report a problem |
| IP address, device type, time of each request | To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix faults | A working, safe service |
I don’t sell your data, use it for advertising, track you or build a profile of you. Speech recognition happens on your phone: Yuga never receives your voice. Clips and cards you share are made on your phone and don’t pass through me.
Processors that handle it on my behalf: Google Cloud (hosting, database, logs, Gemini AI, voices), Resend (account emails, once switched on) and RevenueCat (purchase records, once purchases are switched on). Data is stored in the United States. See Service Providers.
3.Your consent
I process this data with your consent, which you give by choosing to start a conversation and, if you want an account, by signing in; and, for data you give for a specific purpose (such as your year of birth), as a legitimate use under section 7(a) of the Act. You don’t have to give an account, a name, an email or a year of birth to use Yuga. Purchases are processed to perform your contract with me (and the store). Memory of past calls needs its own consent: it is off until you turn it on.
You may also give, manage, review and withdraw your consent through a Consent Manager registered with the Data Protection Board of India, once they are available. Yuga doesn’t yet work with one.
4.How to withdraw your consent
Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent:
- Conversations: stop using the app. Nothing from past conversations is kept.
- Account: delete it in the app (You, then Account, then Delete account) or at the account page; or email support@foundationalcreations.com. Everything kept with it is erased at once. Unused minute-pack minutes are lost, and a subscription must be cancelled separately in the App Store or Google Play.
- Memory of past calls: turn it off in the app, and delete what figures remember (one figure’s or all).
- Year of birth or anything else: email support@foundationalcreations.com.
After you withdraw, processing stops within a reasonable time, and I have my processors stop too. Processing before you withdrew remains lawful. Withdrawing means Yuga can no longer provide the parts that need that data.
5.Your rights, and how to use them
Under sections 11 to 14 of the Act you may ask for:
- a summary of the personal data I process about you, the processing, and who it was shared with;
- correction, completion or updating of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- erasure of your data, unless the law requires me to keep it;
- a quick and effective response to any grievance; and
- the right to nominate another person to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to.
How: email support@foundationalcreations.com from the address on your account if you have one, saying what you want, and (to nominate) the nominee’s name and email address. To identify you I need only your account’s email address, or for a report a description of it. I acknowledge within 24 hours and answer within 30 days.
You also have duties under section 15: give true information, don’t impersonate anyone, and don’t make false or frivolous complaints.
6.Complaints and the Data Protection Board of India
If you are unhappy with how your personal data is handled, write to the Grievance Officer, Pranay Vanka, at support@foundationalcreations.com. I acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 7 days, and never later than the 90 days the DPDP Rules 2025 allow. See Grievance Redressal and Contact.
If you are not satisfied with the answer, or get none in time, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, through the digital means the Board provides. The Act asks you to use the grievance process above first (section 13(3)).
7.Children (under 18)
The Act treats everyone under 18 as a child. Yuga is for ages 13 and up. From 13 May 2027, when section 9 of the Act and rule 10 of the DPDP Rules apply, I will process the personal data of a user in India under 18 only with the verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, or not at all; I will never track, behaviourally monitor or target advertising at a child, or process their data in a way likely to harm their well-being. How this will work is explained on Young People and Parents.
A parent or guardian can write to support@foundationalcreations.com at any time to ask about, or delete, a child’s data.
8.How long data is kept, and where
Conversations: not stored. Account data and purchase records: until you delete the account, or 2 years after your last sign-in. Usage counts: 8 weeks. Billing event ids: 90 days. Memories: 12 months after your last call with that figure. Reports: 12 months. Server logs: 30 days. Emails with you: up to 24 months. Data is stored in the United States on Google Cloud and may be processed wherever Google provides its AI service; no data goes to a country the Government of India has restricted. If the DPDP Rules require longer retention of some data or logs (rules 6 and 8, from 13 May 2027), I will update this notice first.

10.Changes to this notice
If the data or purposes in this notice change, I will update it, show you the new notice in the app before the change applies, and ask for your consent again where the Act requires.
