1.Before you start
You don’t need an account to use Yuga. You can talk to every figure in the iPhone and Android apps without one (except the one “examined” figure, who is for signed-in adults only). An account lets you hear the figures’ own voices, see your voice minutes and give your year of birth, so the figures talk with you in a way that suits your age.
If you never signed in with Google or Apple, you have no account and we hold nothing to delete. Your conversations were never stored on our servers, unless you reported a reply (see section 6). To clear what Yuga keeps on your own phone or browser, see section 9.
Deleting your account can’t be undone. If you sign in again later, you start a new, empty account. If you have Yuga Plus, cancel it in the App Store or Google Play first: deleting your account doesn’t cancel it. Unused minute-pack minutes are lost (section 7).
This page is the account deletion page that Google Play asks app developers to publish. You can use it without installing the app.
2.Delete your account in the app
On iPhone and iPad
- Open Yuga and go to the You tab.
- Tap Account. If you are signed out, sign in first with the same Apple or Google account you used before.
- Tap Delete account. Yuga shows “This deletes your account and everything kept about it.”
- Tap Delete for good (or Keep it if you change your mind).
On Android
- Open Yuga and go to the You tab.
- Tap Account. If you are signed out, tap Continue with Google and choose the same Google account you used before.
- Tap Delete account, then Delete for good.
Your account is deleted straight away and the app signs you out. The Android app offers only Google sign-in: if you made your account with Apple, delete it in the iPhone app, on the website, or by email.
If the app says “Your account wasn’t deleted. Try again.”, check your connection and try again. If it keeps failing, ask us by email (section 4).
3.Delete your account on the website
- Go to Your account.
- Sign in with the same Google or Apple account you used to create your Yuga account. A different one would create a new, separate account instead of finding yours.
- Click Delete account, then Delete for good.
Your account is deleted straight away and the website signs you out.
4.Ask us by email
If you can’t sign in, for example because you no longer have the Google or Apple account you used, ask by email:
- Write to support@foundationalcreations.com with the subject “Delete my account”, from the email address on your account (the address your Google or Apple account shared with us).
- Say whether you signed in with Google or Apple, and roughly when you created the account.
If you used Apple’s “Hide My Email”, your account holds a relay address that you can’t send from. Tell us that; we will write to the relay address, which Apple forwards to you, and ask you to reply.
We may write back to the address on the account to check the request is really yours. We will never ask for a password (Yuga has none), an identity document or payment details. We delete the account and confirm by email within 30 days, usually much sooner. If we can’t find an account or confirm it is yours, we will tell you why, and you can raise it with our Grievance Officer (see Grievance Redressal and Contact).
A parent or guardian, or someone you have authorised, can ask on your behalf; see Young People and Parents. In India you may also nominate someone to act for you if you die or become unable to; see the Privacy Notice for India.
5.What we delete straight away
When you delete your account, we delete at once from our database:
- your account record: your Yuga account id, which provider you used, your account id at that provider, your email address, your name, your year of birth if you gave it, when you created the account, when you last signed in, the date of any warning email we sent before deleting an unused account, and whether memory was on;
- every usage record: seconds of the figures’ voices, messages per day and your own debates per week;
- your plan and purchase records (once on sale), including your minute-pack balance, and the ids of billing updates received about you;
- everything any figure remembers about you (memory of past calls).
That is everything we keep about an account. We never store your conversations, debates, clips or cards on our servers, with or without an account, so there are no transcripts or recordings to delete (memory of past calls keeps only the short facts listed above, and only if you turned it on). Your sign-in on other devices stops working, because the account it points to no longer exists.
If you simply stop using Yuga, an account not signed in to for 2 years is deleted automatically in the same way. If the account has an email address and our email service is switched on, we email you about 30 days before.
We keep no backups of the account database at the moment. If we start, we will first update this page with how long deleted data can remain in a backup before it is overwritten.
6.What we keep, and for how long
| What | What it contains | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Request logs (Google Cloud Logging) | For each request: IP address, browser or app type, time and the address requested. No name, email, account details or anything you said. | Up to 30 days, then deleted automatically. |
| Replies you reported | If you used “Report this reply”: the figure, the reply, your message just before it, the reason and any note. No account id, email or IP address, so it isn’t linked to your account. | 12 months after you sent it, then deleted automatically. To have one deleted sooner, email support@foundationalcreations.com describing it (the figure, roughly when, some of the text). |
| Debate counts | A single number per debate (“1,204 watched”). It holds nothing about who opened a debate. | Kept as an anonymous total. Not personal data. |
| Our emails with you | If you asked by email: your request and our replies, as a record that we did what you asked. | Up to 24 months, then deleted, unless needed for a legal claim. |
| Anything the law requires us to keep | Only what a law, a court or a lawful request from an authority requires. | Only as long as required. |
Our Privacy Policy explains how long we keep everything.
7.Subscriptions and minute packs
Deleting your Yuga account does not cancel a Yuga Plus subscription. Apple or Google bills you, not Yuga, so cancel it in the store before you delete your account, or you may be charged again:
- iPhone and iPad: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Yuga, Cancel Subscription (Apple’s guide);
- Android: Google Play, your profile, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, Yuga, Cancel (Google’s guide).
Unused minute-pack minutes are lost when you delete your account. They can’t be refunded, moved to another account or restored if you sign in again later. Deleting doesn’t refund the rest of a subscription period either; refunds are handled by Apple or Google (see Subscription Terms).
Plus and minute packs are not on sale yet; this applies once they are. Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchases after you delete your Yuga account, under their own policies.
8.Signing out is not deleting
Sign out removes your sign-in from that device only; your account stays and you can sign in again. Delete account removes your account and its data for good, on every device.
9.Data on your device
Yuga keeps a few things on your own device. We never receive them, so we can’t delete them for you, but you can:
- Apps: deleting your account or signing out removes your sign-in and account details. Your call history, saved debates and debate votes stay on the phone until you use Clear call history on the You tab, delete them one by one, or delete the app. Deleting the app removes everything else.
- Website: deleting your account or signing out removes
yuga.sessionfrom your browser. Clear the site’s data in your browser to remove the theme and any older items. - Clips and cards you shared are no longer in Yuga: they are wherever you sent them. Delete them there.
Our Cookie Policy lists each item.
10.Removing Yuga from your Google or Apple account
Deleting your account doesn’t remove Yuga from the list of apps you signed in to. To remove it too:
- Google: myaccount.google.com/connections, choose Yuga, then delete the connection.
- Apple: on iPhone, Settings, your name, Sign in with Apple, choose Yuga, then stop using it; or at account.apple.com.
Removing that access alone doesn’t delete your Yuga account; delete it first as above.
